The Codes and How to Join

The ANUK/Unipol Codes of Standards for Larger Developments are available for downloading below.

In order to apply for provisional membership of either of the ANUK/Unipol Codes, complete both the declaration form and the property schedule that appear on the final two pages of the Code documents. Once these forms have been recieved then the National Code Administrator will be in touch with details of the assessment and verification procedures. Full membership can only be granted once a verification visit has taken place, which should normally occur within 6 months of an application being made

There are two ANUK/Unipol Codes of Standards for Larger Developments

One for accommodation owned/managaed by educational establishmnets and one for accommodation owned/managed by non educational establishmnets. However, because in some situations - especially where student accommodation is provided in partnership between a provider of services and an educational establishment - it is not easy to decide which party is managing/controlling the accommodation, a framework of test questions has been developed to determine which of the two Codes is most appropriate. This framework is included in the code documentation which can be obtained below in PDF format:

ANUK Code of Standards for Larger Developments for student accommodation managed and controlled by educational establishments.

ANUK Code of Standards for Larger Developments for student accommodation not managed and controlled by educational establishments.
