Introduction to the model scheme


The model scheme is recommended by the National Accreditation Network and available for members’ use.

The contents of this model scheme advice comprises:

  1. Guidance on the use of the model scheme
  2. The Landlord model Accreditation Scheme
  3. The model Accredited Tenant Scheme
  4. Suggested benefits of being an accredited landlord

The model scheme is designed to be amended and adapted by scheme operators to suit their local circumstances.

This model scheme is Version 1. ANUK will review and amend the scheme as appropriate at the end of 2004. Users of the model scheme and other private rented sector stakeholders are encouraged to provide feedback to ANUK so that improvements can be made to future versions. 

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
The model scheme has drawn best practice from a number of accreditation schemes that are operating around the country and thanks are expressed to those scheme operators who provided details of their schemes to ANUK so that this could happen and in particular to UNIPOL Student Homes from whose Code of Standards much information has been derived.
